Dr. Richard JyanRichard Jyan was born in Taichung, Taiwan, where he grew up with dreams of becoming a doctor. He attended the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he graduated in 2008. He has been practicing acupuncture for 10 years, specializing in stress and pain relief (physical pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc.) Treating the person as a whole and not just as a series of symptoms has been one of the key factors in his highly successful practice. Western medicine has treated patients well for centuries and saved countless lives; however, when it comes to the treatment of people, it can sometimes falls short. For many common conditions (i.e. a headache, stress, pain), a patient is often given a temporary fix in the form of a pill or a surgery to instantly cure the patient of their ailment. While this solution is convenient, it is often accompanied by unwanted side effects such as liver/kidney damage from too many pills or surgery complications. Richard practices Traditional Chinese Medicine to cure a patient, not just of their symptoms, but of the cause of the ailment through natural means. By educating and empowering the patient to take their personal health into their own hands, he gives them an opportunity to be happy and healthy people. TCM does not just treat conditions, but also improves the health-style of the patient, who is treated of their condition and knows how to prevent it in the future. |
